On Tuesday, the list of participants of the fifth and sixth stages of the Monster Energy FIA World Rallycross Championship Neste World RX of Riga was published – 18 pilots will compete in two World RX stages, including world rallycross champions Timijs Hansens (2019) and Johann Christoferson (2017, 2018). rallycross champion in Supercar class Robins Larsons, and Latvian Reinis Nitišs. Also on September 19 and 20, 17 pilots, as well as several Projekt E participants – who will go on the track by electric car – will compete for the victory in the Supercar class of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at the CSDER Biķernieki Track.

19.-20. Neste World RX of Riga will take place for the fifth time in September, which for the first time in one weekend will host two Monster Energy FIA World Rallycross Championship stages.

Neste World RX of Riga will be attended by all six World RX teams, which announced their participation before the start of the season – ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport (Seat Ibiza, pilots René Munihs and Timo Šeiders), GRX Taneco (Hyundai i20, pilots Timurs Timerzjanovs and Niklass Gronholm), Team Hansen (Peugeot 208, pilots Timmy Hansen and Kevin Hansen), UNKORRUPTED (Renault Clio, pilots Gerlin Chischer and Rock Baciuška), Monster Energy GCK RX Cartel (Renault Megane, pilots Andreas Bakerud and Liams Dorans), and KYB Team JC (Audi S1, pilot Robins Larsons).

These pilots will be joined throughout the season by Johann Kristoferson (Kristoffersson Motorsport, Volkswagen Polo), Anton Marklund (GCK Bilstein, Renault Megane) and Jani Pasonen (Ferratum Team, Ford Fiesta), who will start in the individual races of the World RX stages.

Pilots will also join the above, who will start in separate stages of the World RX, and who in the 2020 season have chosen Neste World RX of Riga as two of them. This year there are three – Krisztians Zabo (Gronholm RX team Hyundai i20), Enzo Ide (Team JC Race Teknik team Audi S1) and Reinis Nitišs (ESmotorsport team Škoda Fabia), who confirmed their participation in the Riga competition only a few hours ago.

Meanwhile, there is currently uncertainty about the possible participation of Jānis Baumanis in the Neste World RX of Riga – the name of the pilot is not indicated in the list of participants next to the application of KYB Team JC. As the motorist himself has recently admitted, work is still underway to provide funding so that Jānis can start in Riga, on the stages taking place at the CSDER Biķernieki Track in Riga. Therefore, the question remains whether Jānis Baumanis will start Neste World RX of Riga, whether he will be replaced by the 2016 world rallycross champion Matthias Ekstroms in these two stages, or maybe both two motorists will start in Riga and we will see four Audi in the start. S1 cars.
