Experienced Czech tennis player Lukáš Rosol will play in the second Prague challenger of the ATP semifinals. The two-time Davis Cup winner in today’s quarter-finals at the clay courts of TJ Spoje defeated Sebastian Ofner from Austria after nine hours 6: 3, 5: 7, 7: 5.
The 35-year-old Rosol, who currently ranks 181st in the world rankings, defeated the third seeded player in a row in the tournament. The last Czech representative Tallon Griekspoor is waiting for the last Czech representative in the semifinals.
The second semi-final pair consists of Dmitry Popko from Kazakhstan and the finalist of the Švanice challenger Alan Karacev. The Russian tennis player advanced to the top four without a fight after his winner from last week and the biggest star Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland resigned from the tournament on Thursday evening due to a thigh muscle injury.
