I told myself it would be fun to overreact to a lot of those wins and losses in the bubble and make big adjustments to the power rankings based on those results. This is a big reason why the Toronto Raptors took first place last week. Not because they didn’t deserve it. I think they deserve it. The Raptors also benefited from a huge win over the Bucks in the early days of the 2019-20 NBA season restart.
However, if you decide you are overreacting to bubbles, do it in a fun (subjective, safe) way, and when the final week of madness happens in the bubble a power ranker is painted in a corner. I just can’t do without the idea because it throws a huge wrench into the system. Well I think I could. It’s power rankings. The whole thing is subjective. I really put my thoughts and homework into this leaderboard every week, but I could just as easily decide which team that bench press has the most strength.
