For anyone who says money can’t buy you happiness, Paris Saint-Germain will tell you that ultimately it really is possible.
The mega-rich Parisians have finally made it to the Champions League final nine years after being bought with the billions of Qatar and three years after losing £ 366 million to Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
But while each of these two starred during that campaign, it was Manchester United’s dazzling left foot who turned back Angel Di Maria who did most of the damage when he scored a goal and two assists in the demolition of RB Leipzig.

It took 12 minutes for Marquinhos – one of the heroes of the dramatic turnaround in the quarter-finals – to nod in Di Maria’s delicious free kick before Neymar’s classic shot got the Argentine top scorer to make the most of a mix-up in Leipzig defense.
PSG continued to dominate as Mbappe and Neymar missed the chance to extend their lead further until an old chunk of Ander Herrera skull digging caused another mistake by the Germans that allowed Di Maria to return to the provider to cross Juan Bernat and take the third to add.
It is the end of the journey for Leipzig, which surprised everyone by reaching its first semi-final of the Champions League under the direction of the now sought-after Julian Nagglesmann.
But for PSG, who will certainly make it to the final as an underdog, should Bayern Munich do what they are expected to do against Lyon on Thursday morning (AEST), this is a welcome end to their embarrassing failures in this competition.
They are just a game away from reaching the goal set when Qatari Sports Investment injected their billions and are certainly currently drawing envious glances from Manchester City, whose owners in Abu Dhabi have used the same method in hopes of the same goal.
