Report: Vikings sign LB Quentin Poling

It looks like the Minnesota Vikings are going to make another roster change here soon.

Per Close, personal friend of the Daily Norseman Tom Pelissero ™, the Vikings will sign linebacker Quentin Poling, pending COVID-19 testing and a physical exam.

Poling was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round (# 227 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft at Ohio University. He had a solid career with the Bobcats, being named the All-MAC first team as a senior and leaving Ohio as the team’s all-time leader in tackles and tackles for a loss.

He was waived by the Dolphins as part of their final cuts and eventually found his way to the Oakland Raiders. He was briefly promoted to the Raiders ‘active roster, but was released and signed with the Falcons’ training squad. After his contract with the Falcons expired, he signed again with the Raiders, but was relinquished in May. Poling hasn’t appeared in an NFL regular season game yet, so we don’t have much to tell you about him.

With the Vikings’ active roster already at 80 (with three players on the COVID-19 roster), the team will need to make a corresponding roster move to make room for Poling if the tests and physique go well.
