Projection of the list of 53 players after the first week of training camp

We’re a little behind the times, but stick with us.

Bills have taken time off, so it’s been a little over a week now, technically. Well, actually, the start of training camp was weeks ago with an extended kick-off.

But the total number of training camp practices the team has had so far with pads? Monday marked the seventh. So that’s our week.

To celebrate the first week of camp that is actually going on with the ups and downs of the COVID-19 pandemic that have caused the team this offseason, here is a projection of the 53-man roster for the Bills after that first week of convenient:

DISTRICT (3)

Josh Allen, Matt Barkley, Jake Fromm

Cups: Davis Webb

Earlier this offseason, the Bills were able to potentially keep two quarterbacks and cut Matt Barkley. He’s not much of a “veteran” mentor for Allen anymore, the games have gone well. Allen has 27 starts versus seven for Barkley. Cutting Barkley could also save bills $ 1.5 million over the salary cap.

But that was centuries ago now and the world as we know it is not the same. Part of this image? No preseason games in the NFL. It might still have been a bit of a bold prediction, but could the Bills have entered the season with two quarterbacks? Namely Josh Allen and Jake Fromm? It was possible. Was. But with no exhibition games under its belt, there’s no way Buffalo could go into a season with this scenario now. Not only does this save a spot on the roster for Barkley, but thanks to training camp practices Barkley is probably the QB who stood out the most, Allen included. Sure, he usually plays second string defense, but still nice to have confidence in a No.2, which he sure is. Davis Webb could be considered fourth-place ‘quarantine quarterback’ on practice squad
