Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Chelsea – SEE THE HIGHLIGHTS
Timo Werner scored his first goal for Chelsea in just four minutes, and the Blues drew 1-1 with PL Brighton teammate at Amex Stadium. It was a well-worked goal by Chelsea, starting with a sensational ball over the top from Hakim Ziyech, another of Frank Lampar’s summer arrivals, and a difficult header from Callum Hudson-Odoi. Werner had the easiest part of all, putting his foot through the top of the ball and sliding it under Mat Ryan.

Great movement, connecting game and of course he got his goal. The sky is the limit for his 2020/21 season. pic.twitter.com/XS3Xkz6tHD

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Birmingham City
Steven Bergwijn scored the 89th-minute victory for Spurs against league side Birmingham. The Dutchman caught the ball at the top of the Blues’ penalty area and masterfully crafted a yard or two of space before unleashing a low laser and towards the far post. Bergwijn impressed after arriving in January and looks set to get off to a good start in his first full season in North London.
Newcastle United 2-1 Barnsley
Newcastle scored goals from Andy Carroll and Jacob Murphy to hold the Magpies’ 100% record this preseason. Carroll’s left came midway through the first half, not long before league team Barnsley reached a draw. Newcastle received a penalty in the 77th minute, and it was Murphy, who won the penalty, who beat them 2-1 at home.

Let’s start there.
Newcastle United 3-0 Crewe Alexandria
Andy Carroll, Christian Atsu and Federico Fernandez all scored for the Magpies in a comfortable win on Tuesday.
Carroll was in his office for quite a bit of football, tormenting and then getting in position to turn around and tear in the door.
MK Dons 1-4 Arsenal
It was a little too easy for the Gunners, who took advantage of many chances on Wednesday.
Eddie Nketiah, Mark McGuinness and Reiss Nelson all scored in the win, but the scorer of the day goes to Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
The veteran hit an empty target from a distance.

Red Bull Salzburg 2-2 Liverpool
The stakes weren’t as high as the latest meeting of minds between Jurgen Klopp and American (TM) coach Jesse Marsch, but there were still plenty of goals.
Liverpool’s scorers came from Rhian Brewster, one created from a silky work by James Milner.
Both of Salzburg’s goals came from Patson Daka. The 21-year-old Zambian is the latest in a long line of Salzburg striker talent and blossomed when Erling Haaland and Takumi Minamino left for new homes last winter.
The Reds bring the highlights of the match here.

Birmingham City 0-2 Leicester City
Leicester scored one fine goal and produced another through intense pressure as the Foxes scored a two-goal win to their league hosts.
There weren’t a ton of familiar faces in Foxes’ Starting XI, though Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans, and Harvey Barnes all started the day.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored a fine goal in his attempt to build on a loan at Blackpool, while Marc Albrighton blocked a goalkeeper pass into Birmingham’s goal for the second goal.
A few strikes by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to bring the foxes forward! ⚽️

Dundee United 0-1 (dropped) Sheffield United
Chris Wilder’s Blades only got half of the game in Scotland, where Billy Sharp missed a penalty won by Sander Berge but also slapped in a rebound from the Norwegian midfielder.
A deluge of rain was too much for the players to play the second half safely and the match was called.
