The Detroit Pistons have agreed a contract with Ryan West for a role in the personnel department, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
James Edwards III of The Athletic reported in early August that the Pistons would add West e Harold Ellis to scouting roles.
West is the son of the NBA legend and a member of the Los Angeles Clippers executive board Jerry west. (Ryan’s brother Jonnie West married golfer Michelle How in 2019) Ryan West worked in the front office of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ellis, 49, most recently in basketball operations with the New York Knicks, but was not retained afterwards Leon Rose became head of basketball operations. Ellis has previously served as the Orlando Magic Pro Scouting Director.
The Pistons are reshaping their front office, starting with the new general manager Troy Weaver, arrived in early summer from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
