Over the years, we’ve seen what a tee time with Tiger Woods can mean for a fellow professional on the PGA Tour. From posing for photos to getting an autograph from the 15-time senior champion, it’s an experience many will never forget. But we seldom hear from players missing out on playing Tiger.
Joel Dahmen enters Apparently, he was monitoring the action on Friday at the BMW championship as Cameron Smith converted a slippery five-foot par in his final hole to shoot 73. It didn’t seem too important with Smith well out of the way, but it was an a big deal for Dahmen since he ruined his Saturday game with Big Cat.
And on Friday night, Dahmen threw a funny tweet at the Aussie letting him know how he felt about the situation and jokingly vowing to take out his anger on Smith on Saturday. At least, we think he was joking. . .
Sorry, Joel. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Woods ended up luring Collin Morikawa, creating a rather flamboyant pairing for Saturday’s early coverage on the PGA Tour Live. The couple of Dahmen and Smith? Well, let’s just say it won’t attract the same attention.
At least Dahmen has played with Woods before, at the 2018 Quicken Loans National.
“The wildest thing was walking to the tee, and I looked at my caddy like, ‘Holy cow, this is amazing.’ I played with DJs last year. I was about 16 at the Phoenix Open. But it wasn’t anything like that, “Dahmen said of that memorable day.” It was good. He couldn’t have been nicer. “
So the bright side is they will always have Potomac TPCs.
