Packers claim WR Travis Fulgham over Lions waivers

On Monday, the Green Bay Packers made their first addition to the wide receiver since the decision to retire Devin Funchess was made about two weeks ago. This acquisition is not the signing of free agent Malik Turner, who is said to have met the Packers recently, but rather a waiver request against Travis Fulgham.

The Detroit Lions gave up on Fulgham on Sunday, one year and one change after selecting him in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Fulgham only played three games last year, starting and ending the season on the l active roster with a long stint in the training team in the middle of the year.

Equipped with 6 feet 2 inches and 215 pounds, Fulgham had a solid college career for Old Dominion University. He totaled 128 receptions for 2,044 yards and 18 touchdowns over his four years, but broke out as a senior with 63 catches, 1,083 yards and nine scores. As a result, Fulgham won a trip to the 2019 Senior Bowl. At the 2019 NFL Combine, he ran an official 4.58 second scorecard from 40 yards, posting a very good vertical of 36.5 inches. He reportedly performed his 3-cone drill in about 6.84 seconds on ODU Pro Day.

The Packers gave up on Jamal Davis to make room for Fulgham.
