Rugby league legends continue to weigh on the current story of Anthony Seibold, the coach of Brisbane Broncos, and Brad Fittler, the respected coach of NSW State of Origin, last spoke of Seibold’s uncertain future.
With the Broncos in dire straits both on and off the field, Seibold’s job has been on thin ice for most of the season – long before the vicious and unfounded rumors about the coach’s personal life spread like wildfire on social media.

“FOR HIS OWN HEALTH”: Gus says “best course of action” so that Seibold can leave
And while NRL expert Phil Gould said it was “probably the best course of action” for the coach to move away from the Brisbane club, Fittler warned against such a move.
Fittler told Wide World of Sports Radio that Seibold is facing the “end of a coaching dream” if he leaves now, given the sad situation in Red Hill.
“The rumors are pretty intense, so it’s very important to get to the bottom of them. If he leaves here, that will be the end of the coaching, I would say for Anthony Seibold.
“He went to the Broncos with a pretty good team and everything turned to crap pretty quickly.
“When the dust settles, there’s a good chance that everything will be on Anthony Seibold’s shoulders, so he’ll have to wait an awful long time for another performance. Leaving is not that easy. This could potentially be the end of a coaching dream. I’m not sure it’s that easy to walk away “

Fittler said that given the ongoing investigation into the rumors surrounding his personal life, Seibold should consider staying away from training – and waiting before leaving the club.
“Given the season is still five weeks away (from the end), that may be a bit light at the end of the tunnel.
“Whether he can take a few weeks off, he only had two weeks off, whether he has to be there for the next four or five weeks while all investigations into these rumors continue and get to the bottom.
“And you wonder how much benefit, what value he could add to training at the moment.
“If I were him, I wouldn’t be sure the best answer is to go away.”
