NBA preview for August 13: TV schedule, live streaming, daily fantasy picks, odds | Bleacher report

Damian Lillard and Devin Booker still have a seed game to try and secure a spot in the Western Conference play-in series for their respective teams.

The pair of guards have been the best in seven games in the NBA bubble, and both need wins to keep their seasons alive.

Portland needs a win over Brooklyn to earn the No. 8 in the West, while Phoenix must defeat Dallas and receive help in the form of a Milwaukee victory over Memphis.

San Antonio needs more assistance than the other three eighth-seeded contenders, but can still enter the play-in series with losses of two or more Portland, Phoenix and Memphis.

DeMar DeRozan was the offensive star for the Spurs in Orlando, Florida, but Rudy Gay may be the best daily fantasy game on the roster with many players attempting to match Lillard and Booker.

Daily Fantasy Picks

Devin Booker, SG, Phoenix

Booker and Lillard have proven in all seeding games that they are worth more than value, whatever their value in DFS contests.

The Suns shooting guard enters Thursday’s showdown with Dallas in a 35-point performance against Philadelphia

Thirty-five was the magic number for Booker in the bubble, having hit that point total on four occasions.

Booker’s bubble curriculum predicts a double double against Indiana and a near triple double on Tuesday. He had nine rebounds and seven assists against the Sixers.

The 23-year-old hit 30 points in both regular-season meetings with the Mavericks.

Given his recent form and motivation to win to reach the play-in series, Booker and the Suns should be in a good position to score a good chunk of points and remain unbeaten in the bubble.

The combination of Booker and Lillard will cost a lot, but it should be worth it.

Lillard played on another level after missing a couple of free throws at the end of the game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. His latest performance saw 61 points against Dallas on Tuesday.

His lowest total score in seeding matches is 21, but even in that match, he was a solid DFS option as he produced nine rebounds and eight assists.

In the last four games, Lillard has landed 32 assists and 15 rebounds to go along with his high scores. He is unlikely to reach the 60-point plateau in the second straight game, but he should still score in the 30-40 points range with so much on the line.

The added perk of Portland’s late start is that he’ll know exactly what he needs to do to land in the Memphis and Phoenix results-based play-in series.

Rudy Gay, SF, San Antonio

If you’re targeting Booker, Lillard, or both as milestones in your lineup, budget options in other positions are needed to complete your lineup.

Gay is worth considering as a mid-level forward option that will likely not be impacted by restraints of minutes or days off. The 33-year-old was a solid secondary scorer for Spurs having hit double digits in each of his seven appearances.

Just like Portland, San Antonio will know exactly what its path to the play-in series will be. If Memphis or Phoenix lose in the game window directly before them, the Spurs can push for a win and then hope for a Blazers defeat later in the night.

As Spurs are one of the few teams with something to play for Thursday, putting Gay together with Jakob Poeltl, Dejounte Murray and others could help you complete your lineup without maximizing the entire team’s salary to build around Booker and Lillard.
