The Argentinian Leo messi communicated to Barcelona that will not show up for PCR testing that the players of the first team must spend this Sunday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, as announced by the RAC 1 station.

These tests are mandatory to be able to verify that the players do not have the coronavirus and thus be able to face the start of training, which will take place on Monday under the command of Ronald Koeman.

Messi makes this decision because he considers that his contract has ended after executing the release clause at the end of the season, as explained by ‘El Periódico’.

Yesterday, the Messi community announced that the player would attend the PCR tests and trainings with the intention of not forcing the situation any more out of respect for the members and fans and to agree to an exit with the club.

This turn in the situation happens after the president of the club, Josep Maria Bartomeu, made it clear that he was not willing to negotiate a transfer for Messi and once again refer to its buyout clause of 700 million of euros if any club wanted to get their services. In any case, the player continues to advocate finding a friendly exit from the club of his life.

For now neither Messi nor Bartomeu have spoken publicly about the matter, although the first is expected to do so soon.
