With a 1: 47.483 Daniel Ricciardo drove the fastest lap of the race in the absolute final phase of the Grand Prix of Belgium. It came out of his toes, the Australian showed immediately after the race over the on-board radio. “I pushed f * cking hard!”
Giovinazzi and Russell crash hard at Spa-Francorchamps
Formula 1 was shocked on Sunday afternoon by a hard crash by Antonio Giovinazzi and George Russell during the Grand Prix of Belgium. The Italian lost control of his Alfa Romeo on the exit of turn fourteen and crashed hard off the track. Russell could not avoid a loose wheel from Giovinazzi and came into hard contact with it before also crashing. Both drivers are fine, but logically cannot continue their way.

Rain shower at Spa-Francorchamps
During the third and last free practice before qualifying, raindrops suddenly fell on the track. In the end it seemed to be a small shower and the drivers were able to stay on the normal dry weather tires, but the threat of downpours will remain all Saturday.
Big roar of Honda power source on Saturday morning
At AlphaTauri, the Japanese power source of Honda is thrown, with a loud roar as a result. The cars themselves, however, have to stay in the pit lane for a while: from 12 noon we will see them in action again during VT3.
Sad news for Horner: dog passed away
Sad news for Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing team principal. Hugo, the dog of the Horner family, has passed away. The animal was 11.5 years old and Horner shares some nice snaps of the animal on Instagram.
How to get rubbish off the track!
The second free practice for the Grand Prix of Belgium was briefly stopped due to rubbish on the track. This after a trip earlier in the day by Giuliano Alesi in a training session of Formula 2. But that is no problem for the local marshals. A rescue team shot after a few debris blown up the track as the fire brigade onto the track, to create a clear track again within seconds.
Hamilton drifts out of the pit lane
During the second free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps, Lewis Hamilton almost loses his car: drifting he comes out of the narrow pit lane of the Belgian circuit, almost crossing the white lines of the pit exit. This is unsafe as there are drivers approaching behind the driver at a higher speed.
Ricciardo parks his Renault with engine problems
Daniel Ricciardo has to put his RS20 along the asphalt during the second free practice. As he came up the long straight, his Renault engine started to falter, after which he was requested by the engineers to turn the car off. Before he retired, Ricciardo was able to set the second fastest time.
An F1 cameraman must be that fast
The fans who watch the races from home will not often see the cameramen responsible for the images they see. After seeing the tweet below, it becomes clear that they deliver a great job: they have to be that fast to keep up with a car.
