Mauro Júnior sends a strong signal to PSV and allows millions of bids to run | PSV

Anyone who would have expected that Mauro Júnior would be in the beep at PSV now that Philipp Max from FC Augsburg is on his way to Eindhoven, is definitely wrong. After a period as a left back, the 21-year-old Brazilian plans to step up a gear and has sent a strong signal internally in Eindhoven. Several clubs wanted to take him over recently, but Mauro is not interested in that. PSV also just wants to keep him in Eindhoven. He sees plenty of opportunities to contribute to multiple positions in the team.

A million-dollar bid from the Brazilian Club Atlético Mineiro and FC Cincinnati has undoubtedly put aside Mauro, who is popular with the PSV supporters. The number five from the top division in Brazil wanted to bring Mauro back to his native country and sees him as a playmaker for the base. Mauro has only one goal and that is to flourish at PSV, the club of his dreams since he was fourteen. He already experienced the title of 2018 as a selection player and Mauro is far from ready in Eindhoven. At PSV trainer Roger Schmidt and the management have a lot of faith in him. Mauro will remain with the selection this season and is not rented out. At the moment, his contract in Eindhoven will run until mid-2022 and the moment that the parties will meet again seems to be approaching.

FC Cincinnati already has several former PSV players under contract with Siem de Jong, keeper Przemyslaw Tyton and Jürgen Locadia. The club also wanted to bring Gastón Pereiro to Major League Soccer last year. Mauro is high on the wish list, but the hefty salaries in the MLS are not important to him now. He wants to win new prizes with PSV.

On Tuesday, the Eindhovens Dagblad will go into more detail about Mauro’s possibilities in the coming season.
