“Marco Simoncelli Saves Valentino Rossi’s Life at the Red Bull Ring” page all

KOMPAS.com – Carlo Pernat said that Valentino Rossi avoided death at the Austrian MotoGP because he was “saved” by Marco Simoncelli.

Valentino Rossi almost fell victim to a horror accident involving Johann Zarco (Reale Avintia Racing) and Frano Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT).

The incident occurred at the Austrian MotoGP race at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Sunday (16/8/2020).

When the race entered the ninth lap, Morbidelli and Zarco collided in the braking zone before the third corner of the Red Bull Ring Circuit.

The collision caused Morbidelli and Zarco to fall in the gravel area, while their motorbike went out of control and almost hit Valentino Rossi.

When the accident occurred, Rossi was seventh, or two positions ahead of Zarco and Morbidelli.

He was turning at the third corner when the bikes Morbidelli and Zarco entered the track alternately.

Luckily, Rossi survived the incident. Morbidelli’s motorbike hit the asphalt on Rossi’s right side.

Meanwhile, Zarco’s crushed ride hit the barrier, just hovering in front of The Doctor.

According to MotoGP observer Carlo Pernat, Rossi avoided death because he was “saved” by Marco Simoncelli.

“Marco Simoncelli took care of Rossi by avoiding him from the Morbidelli motorbike,” said Pernat, as quoted from the press. GPOne.

“Simoncelli kept Rossi away from Morbidelli motorbikes,” Carlo Pernat added.

Marco Simoncelli is Rossi’s best friend on and off the track.

However, death separated them in 2011. Simoncelli died after an accident at the Malaysian MotoGP at the Sepang Circuit.

The deadly incident also involved Rossi and Colin Edwards.
