Manchester United transfer news RECAP Maguire found guilty as Messi ‘tells Barca he wants to leave’

Harry Maguire was found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and repeated bribery attempts after a trial in Greece.

The Manchester United captain was indicted after a brawl on the island of Mykonos last Thursday but pleaded not guilty to all charges in a hearing on Saturday.

Maguire was allowed to return to England before today’s trial but was found guilty in his absence.

The decision comes hours after he was one of four United players to be included in England’s last squad, with Gareth Southgate supporting Maguire after revealing that he told him his side of events on the incident.

Maguire was named to the squad alongside Marcus Rashford, while there were also call-ups for Dean Henderson and Mason Greenwood.

England will face Iceland on 5 September and Denmark on 8 September in the Nations League.
