LA Kings: Five more defenders to target in the 2020 NHL Draft
With the MLB business deadline fast approaching, here’s a potential business target for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Despite all the oddities for the 2020 season, the Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves once again as one of the best baseball teams. The Dodgers currently have the best record in the majors along with the best racing differential.
This is certainly a good combination for the Dodgers, but we’ve seen great Dodgers teams fail in the past. As we prepare for the MLB trade deadline, one player they should consider pursuing is Asdrubal Cabrera of the Washington Nationals.
Despite the challenges of the defending champions so far this season, Cabrera is playing well for them once again. So far this season, Cabrera is hitting .260 with five home runs and 17 RBI. As a switch hitter, Cabrera is also hitting the ball of left-handed pitchers very well this season.
In fact, Cabrera is one of the best hitter against left-handed pitches in all of baseball with a batting average of .481.
The Dodgers enjoyed having players able to play multiple positions and hit well in a platoon role. Cabrera would fit in well with them as he is a switch hitter and can play multiple positions on the infield.
Cabrera has also played a fair amount of baseball in the playoffs, which is where the Dodgers want to be. Getting a little more depth for Roberts’ platoon system might be a welcome sight, and Cabrera will definitely help the training against left-handed pitchers.

This wouldn’t be a huge hit for the Dodgers, but little moves like this sometimes make the difference between winning a title or not. The Dodgers have been trying to get over the hump for years now, and adding some depth could be the way to do it.
