On July 12, 1998, Zinédine Zidane’s face appeared on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The crowd of supporters celebrates their hero. After a sparkling final against Brazil, the 1998 French team won their very first World Cup victory.

It is the culmination of four weeks of competition organized in France, during which the Blues will be worn by the French, to the point of becoming a social phenomenon. Led by Zinédine Zidane, Didier Deschamps, Lilian Thuram and coached by Aimé Jacquet, this French team will make history. Source code looks back on this 1998 World Cup with Christophe Bérard, journalist in the Parisian Sports department.
