Klakockka will play the sixth season in the team “TTT Rīga” The news

Riga, August 25, LETA. Basketball club “TTT Rīga” has agreed on a one-year contract with the player of the Latvian Women’s National Center Aija Klakock, the team informs.

In the 2019/2020 season, Klakock took part in 12 games in the Euroleague, scoring 3.3 points in an average of 22 minutes and winning 5.4 rebounds. The center player earned an efficiency of 7.8. In the Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian leagues, she averaged 6.5 points and 6.1 balls under baskets in 15 games.

The center player is a five-time Latvian champion, winning the title once with “Avantis” / “Turība”, but four times – with the “TTT Rīga” team. She is a two-time winner of the Latvian-Estonian-Lithuanian league (2019, 2020).

Klakock has played in the FIBA ​​Euroleague for seven seasons (2007-2012, 2018-2020). The Latvian basketball player is the winner of the Italian Super Cup (2011), the Italian vice-champion (2012), and the champion of the European Women’s Basketball League (2019).

She has played in six European Championship finals (2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2019). He made his Latvian state debut on August 6, 2005. He played a total of 127 games in the national team and scored 499 points. One of the four players who represented the national team both in the Olympic Games and in the World Cup (also Gunta Baško, Aija Putniņa, Elīna Babkina).

The center player made his debut at the age of 16 and nine months at the U-21 World Cup in Croatia – in the game against Tunisia on July 29, 2003, he scored nine rebounds in 18 minutes. Two years later, Klakock earned a bronze medal at the European U-20 Championship in Brno, Czech Republic. In total, he has played 27 games in his youth national team and scored 182 points.

The player is the youngest daughter of three-time European Champions Cup winner Ilze Šulce-Brumerman. Aia’s sister Dace Pierre-Joseph played professionally in France for many years, including representing the Dunkirk club from 2010 to 2017.

It has already been reported that “TTT Rīga” will also play in the FIBA ​​Euroleague main tournament this season, where it was drawn in Group B together with Ekaterinburg UGMK, Istanbul “Galatasaray”, Sopron “Uniqa” (Hungary), Bourgeois “Tango”, “Basket Landes” ( both France), Skio Famila (Italy), as well as the Spanish team Girona ‘s Spar Citylift and Sfintu Georges’ ACS Sepsi SIC from the winner of the Romanian pair.

Last season, “TTT Rīga” took the last place among eight teams in the subgroup of the Euroleague main tournament and did not qualify for the elimination tournament. The Rigans later triumphed in the Baltic Basketball League and after the main tournament of the Latvian Women’s Basketball League was stopped, they were confirmed as the winners of the national championship.
