The Indonesian U-19 national team has indeed faced a polemic about naturalized players in the last few days.

The arrival of five Brazilian players who joined the three 2020 Liga 1 clubs is considered a PSSI program that wants to naturalize young foreign players.

The program was allegedly intended to boost the performance of the Garuda Nusantara squad when participating in the 2021 U-20 World Cup.

The issue was getting stronger after national football observer, M Nigara, had leaked about PSSI’s desire to bring in young Brazilian players to be naturalized.

This was conveyed by Nigara when interviewed by Tribun Jabar in mid-July.

“There are also some naturalized players who are ready to enter Indonesia. What I heard is that there are about 5 or 6 players from Brazil,” Nigara was quoted as saying by BolaSport.com from the Tribun Jabar Video Youtube channel.
