Ibrahimovic Agrees to Extend Contract in Milan, This Pay

Jakarta

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not leave AC Milan this summer. The Swedish striker has decided to stay at the San Siro.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, Ibrahimovic agreed to extend his contract with Milan until June 2021. At the age of 38, Ibrahimovic still gets a large fee, namely 7 million euros, although without any additional bonuses.

Ibrahimovic is said to be arriving in Milan soon this weekend. He will join the Rossoneri squad which started the pre-season training since Monday (24/8).

Previously, Ibrahimovic’s contract negotiations with Milan reached a dead end. The 18-time Serie A champion offered a salary of 6 million Euros, but Ibrahimovic asked for more. This is what makes his arrival to Milanello delayed.

Even though he is old and his pace has decreased, Ibrahimovic’s presence in Milan is still vital. He became a role model for Milan’s young players in the dressing room, and his contribution both in training and in matches was felt.

Since rejoining Milan in January, he has contributed 10 goals and 5 assists in 18 Serie A matches. Milan are also unbeaten in 12 games after restarting the Italian League in June, recording 9 wins and 3 draws. These results saw Stefano Pioli’s side finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League next season.
