Manchester United’s U23s are back in pre-season action this afternoon as they head to West Yorkshire to face Huddersfield.
Neil Wood’s squad have already faced Salford, Swindon and Morecambe as part of the pre-season schedule as they prepare for their return to Premier League 2 Division One following last season’s promotion.
United will field a younger-than-usual side at reserve level next season but have already gained valuable experience having beaten senior teams from Rotherham, Lincoln and Doncaster in their first EFL Trophy campaign a year ago.
Joel Pereira joined Huddersfield on loan for a season but does not start against his home club today, while United have called a strong team including Ethan Laird, Teden Mengi, Dylan Levitt, James Garner and Hannibal Mejbri.
