Former Seahawks rookie CB Kemah Siverand apologizes for hotel guest’s stealth

Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Kemah Siverand, who was fired earlier this month after being caught trying to bring a woman into the team’s hotel, issued a public apology for what he called an “inexcusable” mistake.

“After taking the time to reflect and really consider the seriousness of my actions, I tried to find the appropriate words to apologize to all those who are affected by my bad decision and my immaturity,” it reads. in Siverand’s apology. “I apologized in private to the coach [Pete] Carroll, [general manager] John Schneider and the Seahawks Organization. I broke team rules, which would have been unacceptable under normal circumstances, but absolutely inexcusable now during a pandemic. I understand that my lack of judgment put my teammates and the organization at risk, luckily no one else was affected by my actions. “

Siverand, an undrafted rookie from Oklahoma state, posted his apologies on Twitter and, according to a source, also sent a handwritten letter to the Seahawks. It was his first public comment since the incident happened at the start of training camp. A source confirmed to ESPN that the female Siverand was trying to sneak into the team’s hotel was seen on camera wearing Seahawks gear in an attempt to disguise herself as a player.

Carroll’s # 1 rule is to “always protect the team”.

The Seahawks gave up on Siverand on August 11.

“I want everyone to know that I am so sorry, that I hold myself accountable and that I am ready to move on,” Siverand wrote. “I want to make sure this mistake doesn’t define me, and I will continue to train more than ever to continue chasing my dreams of playing in the National Football League.”

Siverand also wrote in his tweet: “I made a mistake, let people down and I’m so sorry. Thanks to everyone who reached out to offer support.”

Siverand received a $ 2,000 signing bonus from Seattle. It was tied for the third smallest bonus among the Seahawks’ 17 undrafted free agents.
