Fifth signing of Liberbank Oviedo Baloncesto: Congolese pvot Herve Kabasele

Liberbank Oviedo Baloncesto has signed the Congolese pivot Herve Kabasele, 2.08 and 23 years old, who last season played for Canoe and ended up playing in the NBA development league, the G-League, in the ranks of the Erie Bayhawks, a subsidiary team of the New Orleans Pelicans. An important piece for an OCB that is among the lowest budgets in the category and is trying to build a competitive squad in LEB Gold.

Kabasele arrives on loan from Breogán de Lugo, although the two previous seasons were spent at Canoe, where he proved to be a player capable of performing at a high level in the LEB Oro. In the first one, although he played only an average of 14 minutes per game, he averaged 6.4 points per game. In the last 15 games he played, he finished with an average of 8.1 points and 6.6 rebounds, being one of the pillars of the team during his stay.

The signing of Kabasele and the renewal of Oliver Arteaga means, in principle, a very solvent pair of pivots for Liberbank Oviedo Baloncesto. The first brings power and youth and the second is a guarantee, being for many years a benchmark in the category.

Kabasele is OCB’s fifth signing after the additions of two point guards that come directly from the US university league, the Norwegian Harald Frey and the american Micah Speight; the Andorran forward Aleix Bartolomé, that arrives on loan from Andorra; and the power forward Marc Marti, from Lleida.
