Esport – Overwatch League: Paris Eternal ends the regular season in 4th place – Esport – OWL

The Parisian results reward the strong choices made during the winter. Rather than keeping a 100% European workforce, Drew McCourt’s franchise has surrounded itself with Korean talents to support the remaining French, including Terence “SoOn” Tarlier and Benjamin “BenBest” Dieulafait. Alchemy immediately took hold and it settled in the top of the league, only ahead of the untouchable Shanghai Dragons (1st, 27 wins for 2 losses), Philadelphia Fusion (2nd, 24 wins for 2 losses) and San Fransisco Shock (3rd, 25 wins for 3 losses).

Well helped by the emergence of newcomer Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han, the Parisian club also shone in the mid-season tournaments. He brilliantly won the Summer Showdown, a tournament organized during the pandemic, before going on to a semi-final at the Countdown Cup in early August.

Two performances which logically allow him to aim for the supreme title. During the play-offs in September, Paris Eternal, seeded, will first face online the best American teams. He will have to finish in the first two to then compete for the final square, which will be contested in physics in Asia, with the world top 4.
