Cyclist Vacek won the junior time trial at the European Championships, Bárta finished ninth

Thirty-five-year-old Bárta, who achieved a bronze medal match at last year’s European Games, lost a minute and 44 seconds to the winner.

The race was excellent for the former successful tracker Küng. Cavagna was more than a quarter of a minute slower, and Campenaerts lost an extra four seconds. The bronze Belgian won in 2017 and 2018, in 2016 he finished second. The world record holder in the Campenaerts watch started in Plouay, despite the fact that he recently injured his vertebrae during a fall on the Czech Cycling Tour. However, he has completed the stage race and can continue to drive through cracks in the lumbar spine.

The talented Vacek was considered one of the main medal hopes in the twenty-member selection of national team coach Tomáš Konečný. Last year at the European Championships in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, he finished sixth in the mass start race, now achieving life success.

I really wanted the title. I think everyone wants it, regretty Stybar

“I was preparing for this race all season, I knew I could run the time trial well. Even when I was driving the track, I liked the profile up and down. It was hard, but I had good legs and I’m very happy that It was decided in the first half, the second was more in the congress and there was not much to drive there, “Vacek told the federal website.

In France, a race with a mass start awaits him on Friday. “Gold is a great motivation for the head. The race will not be easy either, it is not very long and I think it will be fast right from the start. I think I can win Friday’s race as well,” Vacek added firmly.

Bomb, Cheer Final

“Bomb!” commented Konečný on the Facebook profile Vacek’s Gold. “It was a very technical time trial with full turns. But right from the start Mathias set a great pace and it was clear that his legs were going. It was decided in the first half, where it was more uphill. In the meantime he had a good half a minute and I he knew that everything would be fine, “said Konečný.

Riders of all categories rode a time trial on the 25.6-kilometer track in Plouay. Vacek completed it in 32:39, the second German Marco Brenner lost four seconds to him. Italian Lorenzo Milesi stayed another 14 seconds back. The seventh place was taken by another Czech racer Pavel Bittner, who was 52 seconds short of bronze.

Otruba, who managed to complete the home golden hat trick at the national championship on Thursday in Mladá Boleslav, also had a high idea. Last year and the year before, he finished in the top ten. After the fourth place from 2018 from Brno, he again slightly offended this time. He was 9th behind the medal by more than three-quarters of a minute. Leknessund won in 30:58 before the Swiss Stefan Bissegger and Ilan Van Wilder from Belgium.

Breggen survived

The women’s race has been part of the European Championships since 2016 and has been ruled by Van Dijk since then. In her four titles, Van der Breggen was on stage three times – twice silver (2016 and 2018) and once bronze (2017). This time, the European champion from the road race in 2016 has already won gold. She completed the track in 34:04 and more than half a minute faster than the defending champion. Bronze was won by Swiss Marlen Reusser. The Czechs did not start.

The morning fight for medals between the juniors, which started the championship program, was dominated by another Dutchwoman, Elise Uijenová, Kristýna Burlová was fourteenth. Burlová started as the only Czech among the 24 juniors, she had almost three and a half minutes to lose.

The women’s under 23 race was run without Czech participation and was dominated by the Germans. Hannah Ludwigová won at 35:53 25 seconds ahead of compatriot Franziska Kochová, bronze was won by Polka Marta Jaskulská.
