Girona’s Clàudia Morente (1998 – 1.63) returns to GEiEG Uni Girona after 4 seasons in the United States. A recent graduate in Mathematics, her journey through America has gone through two stages. In the first two years he played in the NJCAA, with Marshalltown Community College, and in the next two years he made his NCAA II debut, with the University of Upper Iowa. Now, after this experience, he has decided to return home with the help of GEiEG Uni, where she will have the opportunity to make her debut in the second highest category of state women’s basketball, the Women’s League 2.
Morente joined Uni Girona when he was a second-year mini, playing with the pre-kindergarten. Since then, he has always played for the club, also being part of the first Preferred Junior of the GEiEG Uni Girona teams, in 2015. In this way, the club reaffirms its commitment to young players trained in its bases.
The player has explained that “after these 4 years going back to GEiEG Uni is going back to my basketball family, I arrived when I was mini and didn’t leave until I finished junior. I am very happy to see all the people who have trained me as a player again. There’s nothing like coming home. ”He further added that“ on an individual level I hope to fight to be important within the team and learn as much as possible, both from the category and from the coach and teammates.
