Chelsea FC Women will play Manchester City in Community Shield | Official site

with a kick-off at 12.30pm.

It has been confirmed by the FA that the game will be behind closed doors and broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The Blues begin our defense of the Women’s Super League title with a trip north to Manchester United on Sunday 6 September, followed by a home game against Bristol City on Sunday 13 September. Both meetings will also be behind closed doors.

Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes said: ‘I am extremely excited to open the season at Wembley against a top-tier side.

‘We are working very hard and it is a trophy to compete for. I take every trophy very seriously and we will be ready for it. ‘
