Charlotte Hornets unveils New Jersey’s first redesign since 2014

The Charlotte Hornets have unveiled again Association and Icon jerseys next Monday to debut for the 2020-21 season – and are back in their history for their new look.

This is the first complete redesign for the Hornets since the team was rebranded by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2014.

The new look features double stripes on the shirts, a similar look to that used by the franchise from 1997 to 2002. This time the pinstripes are in one color: teal on the Association’s white jersey and white on the icon’s teal t-shirts. Purple is used to cut the numbers on both jerseys and names, Charlotte on the Association and Hornets on the Icon.

Like the design they take the new uniforms from, the Hornets will mostly have plain shorts. The shorts have a double stripe running down the side that opens into a cell with the Hornets logo near the bottom.

Both jerseys feature the Jordan brand Jumpman logo on the chest instead of the regular Nike Swoosh logo. Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets franchise and the team is the only team in the league to use the Jumpman logo on his association and icon jerseys.

However, starting next season, all Statement edition jerseys will feature the Jumpman logo. Charlotte will wear the same Statement edition jersey she had for the 2019-20 season – a purple jersey with “CHA” on the front – and will unveil the new City edition kits at a later date.
