“My goal is to be 140 years old”

The professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau is considered a freak. As a physicist, he takes a different approach than his competitors. Now the “mad scientist” declared that he wanted to become the oldest person. And justified his plan.
THEoptimization. Records. Records. What drives Bryson DeChambeau is well known. On the PGA golf tour, the professional has long been known by the nickname “Mad Scientist”.
After all, the mad scientist works meticulously and with a sometimes manic precision on his punches and himself. For the eccentric American, 26 years young, no detail is too small to not address.
In August he now revealed in an interview with the “GQ” that it is also the big issues that he devotes himself to. Even the really big ones. DeChambeau has set its sights on a record: life expectancy. He wants to be the oldest person.
DeChambeau breaks the 2116 record
“I always try to add more value to my life. My goal is to be 130 or 140 years old, ”he said in the interview. The basis of his unbelievable announcement is the research, which the studied physicist, also known as “professor”, is following with interest. “I really think that’s possible with today’s technology. I think someone will be able to do that in the next 30 or 40 years. ”Then why not him?
DeChambeau finished fourth at the weekend’s PGA Championship. The winner was his compatriot Collin Morikawa, who won his first major tournament with an outstanding round of 64 at the end and a total of 13 strokes under par. “It is great. That was one of my goals in life, ”he said.

A success that DeChambeau is also striving for. But his life goals are much bigger. The French Jeanne Calment is considered the oldest person to date. The Arles woman died in 1997 at the age of 122 years and 164 days. It still has to hold out for 96 years, until 2116.
