Perth Glory have weathered an all-out attack from third-placed Wellington Phoenix to send them back over the ditch with a 1-0 win in their first game of the A League final.
The Glory, who advanced one point into the postseason against Adelaide United, defeated the Phoenix at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday thanks to a goal from outgoing Joel Chianese in the first half.
Chianese assured that his career in Perth will last at least one more game before joining Indian Super League club Hyderabad FC at the end of the season.

He pounced on a pass from Jake Brimmer and ended cool on the edge of the box in the 19th minute.
This proved to be the winning goal as the Phoenix accumulated more than 30 shots and 65 percent possession, but to no avail as it remained goalless.
Phoenix is leaving the A-League bubble empty-handed despite having achieved the highest regular season finish in the club’s history.
The Glory will face Sydney FC on Wednesday evening to secure a spot in the Grand Final next Sunday.
The final continues on Sunday with the second elimination final between newcomers Western United and Brisbane Roar.
