When is the NBA project in 2020? New date, time, place, lottery odds and more to know

The 2020 NBA Draft had been in a state of decline for months as the league attempted to address the problems presented by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Now, with the 2019-20 season back on track, the off-season calendar is starting to take shape. More challenges may arise, of course, but the best prospects like LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman can at least start preparing for the draft process.

When is the NBA project in 2020?

  • Date: October 16, 2020
  • Time: TBD
  • Position: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York

The NBA 2020 Draft will take place on October 16 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, home to the headquarters of the networks. The first and second rounds will take place on that date.

NBA Draft TV channel, how to experience streaming

This year’s draft will be broadcast on ESPN. You can also stream the draft to the Watch ESPN app.

Will the NBA draft process be in person or virtual?

The NBA has not yet made an official decision on how it will conduct this year’s draft, lottery or combination. The league sent emails to inform several prospects that had been selected to participate in the combine, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, but the NBA made it clear that there is no guarantee that a combine will be made before the draft.

While a virtual draft would not be ideal, the NFL has shown that it can be done and that draft covered seven rounds in three days. The NBA could use the NFL as a model and attempt to limit any technical problems that may arise.

For now, the NBA front offices simply organize virtual meetings and watch old in-game movies as they continue to build their drafts.

NBA Draft Lottery Odds

The NBA Draft 2020 lottery will take place on August 20. Lottery odds are based on team records when the 2019-20 season was suspended on March 11th.
