In the women’s final, Bolsova sweated to defeat the young Basque Ane Mintegui in three sets (6-3 6-7 6-3) who in the semifinals had already surprised leaving out the white Marina Bassols. Mintegui, only 16 years old and twenty-ninth player in the state ranking, has faced a much better player like Bolsova in a match that has gathered many people on the central court of Club Tennis Girona.
On the other hand, in the men’s final, Steven Díez had less problems overcoming Girona Tennis Pro from Reus, Edu Esteve. In a match with two very different parts, Esteve faced Díez in the first set, resolved with the victory of the series leader in the tie-break, but then the physical problems took their toll. The match ended 7-6 and 6-0.
