UEFA analyzes whether Barça-Naples should be held at the Camp Nou

UEFA, forced to pay close attention to the evolution of the coronavirus in the face of the restart of continental competitions in an express format, is carefully analyzing whether the Barça-Naples clash, corresponding to the return of the knockout stages of the Champions League, You can play at the Camp Nou as scheduled on August 8, from 9:00 p.m. and without an audience.

As ‘El Món a RAC1’ has advanced, the European body has asked the Health Department of the Generalitat about the situation of the pandemic in Catalonia following the protocol. The final decision of UEFA, which must be known at the end of this week, will largely depend on Health’s response. On the part of Barça, at the moment they have no communication about a possible change of scenery to avoid added risks.

For now, the Catalan health authorities assure that it can be played in Barcelona, as reported by different media in Barcelona. Tourists can travel to the Catalan capital, where they are not prohibited from entering. All these arguments give confidence to the Catalan club so that the match can be played at the Camp Nou, after the 1-1 of the first leg played in San Paolo with that goal by Antoine Griezmann that is worth gold.

UEFA is following the same protocol in Manchester, Turin and Munich, host to the other three remaining knockout rounds: City-Real Madrid (2-1 in favor of Pep Guardiola’s home team after the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu ), Juventus-Lyon (0-1) and Bayern-Chelsea (3-0).

The alternative to Camp Nou or to some of these scenarios would be Lisbon, where the quarterfinals, semifinals are already scheduled to be played, alternating the Da Luz stadium with the José Alvalade stadium, and the Champions League grand final, on August 23 at the Benfica coliseum.
