TSG Hoffenheim has a new trainer. With Sebastian Hoeneß there is not only an iconic name, but also an offensive thinking and consequently acting professional.

Habemus Hoeneß! After two weeks of murmuring, what has long been thought likely has finally come true. Sebastian Hoeneß, the 38-year-old son of the former international Dieter Hoeneß and nephew of Uli Hoeneß, the football world champion from 1974 and iconic patriarch of FC Bayern Munich, is the new coach of the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Despite the seemingly dynastic family name, no white smoke rose above the Zuzenhausen headquarters of the self-proclaimed “village association” in the middle of the green meadows of the Kraichgau.

A simple press release from TSG announced the change of the master coach from the third division, who led the so-called Bayern amateurs in the promotion season 2019/20 as the first second representative of a Bundesliga club in first place in this division. However, because the second teams from first or second division clubs are only allowed to advance to the third division, the coach of the “small” Bayern used their first chance to reach the top conscious of their careers.
