Trent Alexander-Arnold on the three words Jürgen Klopp said to him before his Premier League debut

Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed how Jürgen Klopp brought him the news of his Premier League debut.

Alexander-Arnold played for injured Nathaniel Clyne on the right side of the defense when the Reds drew 1-1 with Manchester United in January 2017.

Since first starting in the top division, Alexander-Arnold has played 127 times for his youth club, helping them win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the first Red Club World Cup in the past 12 months.

However, it was the Premier League title triumph last week that is probably the biggest moment for the 21-year-old so far. Alexander-Arnold shines again for a team that has waited 30 years for a Liverpool title this season.

Liverpool are champions of the Premier League

After winning the Reds’ first championship in his life, the West Derby-born England international has again announced that he will make his Premier League debut.

“We trained on Saturday and then traveled to Manchester and stayed there, just a normal day,” he told Red Bull.

“And then we go for a walk about three hours before the kick-off and the manager came to me, put his arm around me and said, ‘Are you ready?’

“I was so confused. He said, ‘Are you there?’ I said yes, yes. And he said, “OK, you have to start today.” He said my face was sunken, so I felt.

“I was so shocked. I went back to my room and called my mother and she literally burst into tears. Everyone tried to help me, they all understood how nerve-wracking it was.”

The right-back’s senior debut had taken place just a few months earlier in a league cup win over Tottenham in Anfield – a night he described as one of the best days of his life.

“They named the team and I started, and I remember being really confused because I wasn’t expecting it,” he added in an interview at the Red Bull Pro campaign.

“It was so nerve-wracking because you never played before 50-55,000 people. But it was one of the best days of my life.”

Since Alexander-Arnold broke into the team at the Old Trafford draw about three and a half years ago, he has developed into one of the highest-rated full-backs of world football and has earned a place in the team Ballon d’Or shortlist last year.

His accomplishments in last season’s successful Champions League season earned him further recognition on the world stage, but while the youngster says winning the European Cup is his “happiest” moment in a Liverpool jersey, it was the debut at Old Trafford that distinguishes him.

“I would say [winning the Champions League] was the happiest, definitely the happiest, “he adds.

“I feel that my debut was my proudest because, although I’ve always dreamed of winning the Champions League and winning trophies in particular, you have to make your debut first and I knew I was a player was when I played this game. ” Liverpool player.

“Nobody could ever take that away from me.”
