Toulouse: a man admits the murder of the brother of footballer Serge Aurier

A man was placed in police custody Tuesday evening as part of the investigation into the murder of Christopher Aurier, brother of Ivorian footballer Serge Aurier (Tottenham, ex-PSG), shot dead on Monday in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) .

The man presented himself at around 6 p.m. at the central police station in Toulouse to confess to the murder of Christopher Aurier, 26, said a police source.

Christopher Aurier had died Monday morning after his transfer to the hospital. He had been rescued at the scene of the shooting, in an industrial area on the outskirts of Toulouse, injured in the abdomen.

According to the regional daily La Dépêche, he was killed outside a nightclub. Witnesses evoke “a romantic dispute” which could have been at the origin of this fatal attack. Little brother of the Ivorian international footballer, Christopher Aurier also played football, but at an amateur level, licensed at Toulouse Rodéo (5th division).

Christopher Aurier, “unfavorably known to justice” according to a police source, was trained at RC Lens like his older brother Serge, but failed to break through at the highest level.
