Prague – The superstructure rescue team will not finish in the first football league and no one will relegate to the second league. The League Football Association (LFA) has announced that the presence of a new coronavirus in the Opava team, which had to be quarantined for two weeks today, will make it impossible to complete the group. The League Committee will therefore decide in the coming days on the premature end of the season of the highest competition.

Two rounds remained to be played in the six-member rescue group, which was postponed at the beginning of July due to several cases of coronavirus in the Karviná team. After a three-week forced break, three matches were to be played today and three on Sunday. Finding a covid-19 in one Opava player but ruined the end of the season. Due to the two-week quarantine of the Slezanians, the group would not be able to complete the rescue by August 2, which was the deadline.

None of the three teams Karviná, Opava and Příbram, which were in danger of falling into the second league, will relegate. The winning Pardubice and the second Zbrojovka Brno passed to the highest competition, the third Dukla Praha will not advance. Last week, the clubs decided to cancel the barracks. Next year, the first league will be played by 18 teams.

The LFA has postponed the remaining two rounds so far. The league committee, which will meet in the coming days, probably on Friday, has a mandate to end the competition. The first league has never ended prematurely in history, only in the 1944/45 season it was not played at all due to the war.

“Due to the impossibility of finishing all matches of the first league by the set deadline by August 2, the league committee will be forced to make a decision in the coming days to end the competition year of the first league without determining the final order of teams,” the LFA said in a statement.

The other two superstructure groups finished for the title and for Europe. The final ranking will not be determined in the end, but Slavia Praha will not lose the defense of the championship primacy. It also does not change the fact that together with the champion he will go to the European Cups Pilsen, Sparta, Jablonec and Liberec.

The director of the regional hygiene station Pavla Svrčinová announced a coronavirus infection in one player in the Opava team just a few hours before today’s planned home match with Olomouc. According to her, the unnamed football player started having health problems on Tuesday or Wednesday, until then he had been training with the team.

“Everyone has to go to quarantine, everyone goes for tests. We order them for tests, then they will be quarantined for 14 days, then they will go for tests again. We also order disinfection of the entire stadium, including massages, rehabilitation, changing rooms,” said Svrčinová.

“The infected person is an A-team player who informed us by phone on Tuesday afternoon after training that he was not feeling well. We advised him to contact the district doctor, who then sent him for tests. He underwent tests on Wednesday morning and contacted him on Thursday morning. “The player has not been in contact with anyone since Tuesday’s training and has remained at home. A list of epidemiologically significant contacts has been created – these people must pass tests and have been quarantined with immediate effect,” Jaroslav, Opava director told the club website. Rovňan.

Olomouc, Teplice and Zlín were sure to keep Olomouc in the rescue group before the planned overtime. Karviná had a two-point lead over the penultimate Opava and the last Příbram. The finding in Opava helped all three endangered clubs, because if the competition was completed, the worst of them would come down.

“I am very sorry about the reactions of some people who, in my opinion, are beyond the edge of common sense. Now we want nothing more than for everyone else to be healthy and the player in question to be fine soon,” Rovňan said.

Dukla comes to terms with the fact that he will not return to the first league this year. “It’s a really big surprise for me. I wish the infected player a speedy recovery. This makes FK Dukla Praha most likely to remain in the second league, another comment is probably useless. I’m only worried about the next competition year, it will be one big mess,” he said on social network executive and sports director of Dukla Pavel Vandas.

At the beginning of July, the rescue team was complicated by several positive cases in the Karviná team. Last week, all players had a negative control test and could return to training. In May, when the league restarted after a long break from mid-March, they had one infected player in Slavia and Mladá Boleslav, but that did not spoil the season’s recovery at that time.
