The Man Utd trio wins the Premier League Academy awards

Tony Whelan has received the Eamonn Dolan award, which appears to recognize an individual or group making an outstanding contribution to football training and / or the development of coaches within the Academy environment.

The United’s Academy program consultant joined the club in 1990 and is a worthy recipient of the award, named in memory of the late Exeter City and Reading coach.

“I had the privilege of meeting Eamonn a few years ago” said Tony. “He was always a very uplifting person and a great developer of coaches.

“I am very humble to receive this particular recognition in his honor and worthy to carry on his legacy.

“But I don’t think you’ve ever won those awards alone. People share it with you, with whom I have worked over the years. It was a privilege to work with some wonderful people in the club. Everyone shares it with me. I dedicate it to them. “
