The Celtic and Rangers pre-season tournament was confirmed by the disclosure of Hoops’ PSG date

Celtic and Rangers confirmed their place in a pre-season tournament in France.

Both Old Firm clubs will prepare for the new Premiership season with a friendly match against Lyon hosts at the Groupama stadium. Ligue 1 Nice will also participate in the competition.

The games will continue on July 16th and 18th, but it has not yet been decided which Glasgow team will clash first.

Celtic are also ready to play against PSG in Parc Des Princes on July 22nd.

Lyon boss Rudi Garcia confirmed the news, said: “It was not easy to organize preparation friendlies and we opted for eight weeks to prepare for the new season.

“This will include a tournament at the Groupama stadium against the Rangers and Celtic, with Nice being the other team.

“The thought behind this was that it was necessary to find quality opponents in leagues that have not recovered.

“We have to prepare both for the start of the new season and for the Champions League game against Juventus.”
