His average fastball in 2019 was a low career 94.3, as he made his way to a record 18-6 and 3.32 ERA in the regular season, so he went 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA in the post- season on the way to be named the MVP of the 2019 World Series.
Strasburg allowed him to run on six shots in five work innings, hitting six without walking a batter, hitting shots on 52 of his 81 shots.
He had to solve the problems a couple of times: attack the runners in second and third place and one first in the Orioles, causing Renato Nunez to appear, then prompting a reversal by Chris Davis to put an end to that threat, then dropping Nunez to the ground outside with two inside and two outside in the third.
Baltimore attorney Alex Cobb held the Nats out three by three, before Kendrick brought Washington on the board with one inside and two outside in the fourth, driving a 2-2 fast ball towards the bleachers immediately to the left.
Kendrick began initially, with veteran Asdrubal Cabrera starting in third place ahead of the prospect of novice Carter Kieboom, the possible apparent heir to the missing star Anthony Rendon.
