The Generals are the Globetrotters’ frequent opponent, almost always at the losing end of the fun basketball competition. Herschend Entertainment owns the trademarks of Generals and Globetrotters.

“We think the Globetrotters are out there as the most loved team in the world with Manchester United and the New York Yankees,” said spokesperson Brett Meister. “Our heritage includes the generals of Washington.”

The generals also have other local ties, as the team’s former owner / coach / player, Red Klotz, was a member of the Baltimore Bullets, title winners in 1948.
