PSG hosts free Think Big webinar series

“To do this you need to have a clear eye, the right information and expert advice,” says Tracy Hirst, PSG’s marketing manager. “So, we’ve gathered a collection of bigger thinkers to help unpack the future.”

“We have created a series of unusual dialogues to offer you the thought leadership of both the leaders and leaders of the PSG team,” adds Hirst.

The host of the series is Bruce Whitfield. “It doesn’t happen every day to have an individual meeting with some of the most extraordinary people in their fields and to learn more about them, what they do and why they do it,” says Whitfield.

“I feel so privileged to tap into some of the country’s keenest minds and can’t wait to share those conversations with you,” adds Whitfield.

“Our goal is to allow viewers to formulate their views and manage their expectations of how various aspects of the current situation could unfold. By providing thought leadership, our Think big the series will help viewers see the big picture in crucial areas of concern, “says Hirst.

The series began with Jacques Pauw, an investigative journalist and author of The President’s Keepers, who took a look at the tobacco industry. He talked about what’s going on in the industry and how it continues to thrive. People can watch the full webinar here.

In the next episode, Guy Leitch, editor of SA Flyer, will examine where air transport could be headed and what needs to be resolved to get there. Former Springbok coach Nick Mallett will attend the third webinar, discussing the future of rugby in a post-COVID 19 world.

The fourth webinar in the series features Herman Mashaba, who discusses his time as mayor of Johannesburg and why he decided to resign, as well as his newly published book The accidental mayor and his new political party, The People’s Dialogue.

Finally, in the current line-up (as the August program is yet to come), Adam Habib, vice-chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, joins the series to talk about the role of leadership in mitigating inequalities in higher education.

“We are delighted that these prominent people have agreed to engage in conversations on issues close to the hearts and minds of South Africa,” says Hirst. “Let’s think about Think big the series touches on many important topics and is confident that webinars will add value to viewers’ thinking, “adds Hirst.

“To date, we have secured the following speakers and will continue to add them to the list. So check back regularly to make sure you see the bigger picture,” concludes Hirst.
