Proud Atalanta coach: “Hear time and time again that we have broken records” | NOW

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini is proud of the strong series he is working on with his team. The club of Marten de Roon and Hans Hateboer won on Tuesday at Parma (1-2) and have been unbeaten for seventeen games in a row.

“After every game I am told that we have broken records again. I understand that we now have the most away wins in one season,” said Gasperini after the hard-fought victory.

Atalanta finished third last year and is back on the spot with one more game to go. The deficit at number two Internazionale, the opponent in the last round, is one point.

“After third place last season, it would be our best performance ever. We are now ahead of all major clubs, except for Juventus, of course,” said 62-year-old Gasperini.

“We will do everything we can to conquer that second place now. What is our strength? For all my players, they are especially mentally very strong. That leads to these good results.”

The strong Atalanta will play in the Champions League for the first time this season and is now in the quarterfinals of the most important European club tournament. On August 12, Paris Saint-Germain will be the opponent.
