The Mexican Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) posted the best time of the first free practice session of the Grand Prix of Styria, second round of the Formula 1 World Championship, Friday on the Red Bull Ring (4.318 km) of Spielberg ( Austria). His time of 1 min 04 sec 867/1000 and that of the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who is close behind him at 96/1000, are however to be balanced compared to those of Mercedes of the Finnish Valtteri Bottas, at 222/1000, and by Lewis Hamilton, at 253/1000. These last two have indeed signed their times wearing medium tires, slower than the soft tires of Pérez, Verstappen or even the 5th at 529/1000, the Canadian Lance Stroll (Racing Point). The first Ferrari, that of the German Sebastian Vettel, is 10th at 903/1000. That of the Monegasque Charles Leclerc is 12th at 970/1000.
