Patrick Mahomes playing golf, drinking beer in the NBA bubble, Joe Burrow has a road and what you missed this weekend

Here’s what you may have missed over the weekend …

Things are going on. NBA players are on the bubble. Baseball players are in Spring Training 2.0. There are 17 days to go before the first NBA games and 10 days until the MLB opens. We are close We do not play anything. We are so close now.

But first, we came to bury the building in Auburn Hills, not to praise it.

The former home of the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Shock was imploded on Saturday after closing nearly three years ago. Don’t feel sad, however; the place really lived. In addition to three championships for both Pistons and Shock, in 2004 he became famous Cher / Madonna / Prince thanks to “Malice at the Palace”, a legendary fight between Pacers and Pistons.

Oh, and someone tried to kill Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page there.

On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs’ MVP QB signed an extension of the contract that could be worth $ 503 million if it reached all guarantees and bonuses.

Then, over the weekend, Mahomes was in Lake Tahoe, Nevada to play the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.

He had some good moments:

He threw a pinecone, then picked up a wet Willy.

All of this comes only a week after the biggest news for Mahomes: he is getting a Whataburger in Kansas City.

Meanwhile in the bubble of the NBA

We all miss friends and colleagues that we haven’t been able to see since the coronavirus sent many people to quarantine. NBA players like Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic feel the same way.

Quite right. Bobi and Tobi are back together.

At the New Orleans Pelican Field, 14 years have passed since JJ Redick was in college in Duke. Don’t worry though, he can still shoot with a beer.

Although Miami Meyers Leonard heat center may want all that Redick smoke.

Last week, a Jacksonville Jaguars player caught a 400-pound grouper. The fish stories that happen with NBA players in Walt Disney World are less than exciting.

Thunder forward Darius Bazley is excited after running into a fish in the NBA bubble.

Except perhaps this further verification of Ben Simmons’ shooting fights.

Civic news in Baton Rouge

Win a Heisman. Win a title. Take a road. Easy.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals QB, number 1 in the NFL draft, got a street named after him. The road is just south of the LSU campus.

This week in high fashion

This is just former NFL receiver Chad Johnson who runs 22 mph on a treadmill in $ 1,500 Gucci pants.

And finally … why was that person trendy?

It happens all the time. Maybe every day. At some point, someone is trending on social media and there is no very clear reason why. This weekend, that person was the ex-big New York Yankee and the current Miami Marlins director, Don Mattingly.

Do not worry. Donny Baseball is fine. However, as a tweeter pointed out, it was a good time to remember his biggest performance.
