Ole Gunnar Solskjaer found the next Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo in Mason Greenwood.
That’s according to Dimitar Berbatov, the former Red Devils striker, who says the youngster is so promising that United doesn’t have to make any further commitments.
Greenwood started United’s 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday, scoring the Red Devils’ first goal in the 16th minute.
He later became a provider when he set up Bruno Fernandes to score after he had played a pass accurate to his teammate.
Berbatov told Mirror Football: “Greenwood was like Ronaldo against Brighton.
“His left foot, together with his vision, is incredible. I don’t think many signings are required to take United to the next level.
“You really have to be first class players to make the difference, someone who will be better than the current team.”
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also full of praise for Greenwood after his performance against the seagulls.
“He’s feeling better,” he said. “You can clearly see that he’s maturing and improving. He’s only 18 years old, so we’ll see more of him.

“I said throughout the year that as long as we can see him in and around the box, he will create opportunities for us, but this game was his hold-up game and his link-up game and his general movement also fantastic.
“It’s great if he can go inside and outside, both on his left and on his right.

“He is a special talent, a special child that we will take care of. Try to become a top top player.”
“He is fine now, but he is still young and still needs to learn something. He knows that, but we have a special talent there that we have to encourage.”
