Hollywood mega-star and Rabbitohs owner Russell Crowe stammered and answered questions about his role in South Sydney’s reports of teen geek Joseph Suaalii signing.
Crowe has been reported to have played an important role in sealing the deal to fend off and offer the Rugby Union to stay in Redfern.
“Um, is that an actual report?” Crowe replied to the question of whether he had helped secure Suaalii’s services.

“I have to examine this before I can answer this question.
“Look, I spent some time with Joseph and he’s a good boy. Whatever his choices are for what he wants to do in the future.
“He’s just one of those kids that you know will be successful because he really has it.

Suaalii is expected to avoid Rugby Australia’s approach and sign a four-year deal with the Rabbitohs on his 17th birthday on August 1st.
Wayne Bennett said this week that South Sydney is the best place for Suaalii and he is the best man to lead a young player’s career.
However, Bennett will be in Redfern for another season before handing the reins over to acting Jason Demetriou.
