League legend Ben Elias has been put on Canterbury’s board of directors for failing to deliver on a nine-point promise they made to members when they were elected.
The Bulldogs are in crisis after head coach Dean Pay stepped down on Monday night, and there is deafening silence about the future of the role.
On Wednesday, senior player Aiden Tolman asked the club to act quickly and to find a new coach for the next season to solve problems on the field and in the squad.

Elias beat up the board on Wednesday for failing to deliver on those promises.
“You ran a very large campaign to get on the current board. They had a nine-point plan to turn the Bulldogs upside down, ”said Elias.
“You were elected. Now I can assure you of these nine pillars … You check all this and you failed. You get a big loss of fat.
“I have a lot of very passionate supporters of Bulldogs and they always say: ‘Next time you’re at 360, give the Bulldogs a fair start. ‘
“They are so upset with what they have done and vote for this regime to be there.
“It starts at the top. You have to be accountable and take responsibility. At the moment I hear malicious rumors that the two chairs are having all kinds of quarrels with each other and if they fight at the top, God will help the rest of them.
“You go into the wilderness. You dont know what you are doing.
“If you expect to be successful, joke.”
